The assessment

CoCubes

Pre-assessment employability test

  • 7-module test · aptitude to coding
  • Produces a recruiter-facing score
  • No learning, no projects
The engagement

Skillencio

360° employability engagement

  • APEX learning · ENGAGE projects
  • EXCEL assessment · EMPOWER hiring
  • One Employability Score, per student
VS
01The shape

Seven test modules, or the whole readiness cycle.

  • CoCubes: 7-module Pre-Assess (Aptitude, Domain, Coding, Psychometric, English)
  • Skillencio: APEX Learning, ENGAGE Projects, EXCEL Assessment, EMPOWER Employability
  • Plus: the Employability Score — per-individual, per-cohort, per-branch, longitudinal, exportable
02The roadmap

Aon's portfolio asset, or your direct partner.

  • CoCubes is part of Aon; founders exited operationally
  • Now operates as "Aon CoCubes" inside the global assessment portfolio
  • Skillencio is independent, founder-led, India-college focused
03The cost

Per-test fees per student, or one institutional engagement.

  • CoCubes: per-attempt Pre-Assess fee, paid by the student
  • Skillencio: institution-funded engagement covers every student in the cohort
  • Bundled: Learning, Assessment, Mocks, Scoring, Recruiter Pipeline — no add-on fees
Feature-by-feature

Talent moatWhere the skill came from Native to Skillencio — learning via APEX, projects on ENGAGE, assessment and scoring through EXCEL, employment via EMPOWER. The graduate is the product. Inbound. Tests the candidate as they arrive. No upstream training or skilling.
AudienceWho pays · who uses Institutions and corporates — both sides of the bridge. Corporates (B2B licensing) and students (B2C test fee). Institute tiers exist but no operational TPO product.
LearningLMS · curriculum APEX — 360° learning coverage: Coding, Domain, Aptitude, Business Communication, Interview Prep Content, Capstone Projects. AI-personalised, instructor-led. No publicly documented LMS. Positioned as a pre-employment assessment — courseware or curriculum is not a headline offering.
AssessmentNative engine EXCEL — AI-powered native assessment engine. Coding (Tests + MCQs), MCQ, Domain, Psychometric, English, Aptitude. Plus 10–15 min custom test authoring with auto-grading. Pre-Assess — 7-module test (Aptitude, Computer Fundamentals, Psychometric, Domain, Coding, Written English) for engineering; 4-module variant for MBA. Aon-backed psychometric R&D.
Projectworkspace · practice ENGAGE — AI-powered project workspace. Capstone-grade projects across code, CAD, design or case-study work, with mentor review. Coding module inside Pre-Assess — auto-evaluated test environment in C/C++/C#/Java. Not a learning workspace.
Placement workflowTPO operating system EMPOWER — Skillencio's employability platform. Recruiter Engagement, Drive Coordination, Offer Tracking — inside the readiness cycle. No publicly documented placement-workflow module. Institute offerings cover exam admin and diagnostic; scheduling, pipeline tooling and offer tracking are not headline offerings.
ScoringSingle readiness signal Employability Score — continuous, methodology-led. Per-individual, per-cohort, per-branch, longitudinal, exportable. Pre-Assess employability score — single-test result. Recognised across the Aon-CoCubes recruiter network.
Mock interviewsPractice, not slots EMPOWER — live mock interview sessions: HR rounds, technical rounds, company-specific simulations before drives. Practice, not scheduling. No publicly documented mock-interview product. Students prepare on their own.
Outcome accountabilityWho owns the placement number Skillencio. The engagement is designed around the placement outcome. The student. CoCubes's deliverable is the test score; placement responsibility sits with the student and the recruiter.

What changes for the institution

Four outcomes assessment can't deliver.

Each one a conversation a TPO already has in the placement review.

01Beyond Pre-Assess

A test that measures, a cycle that builds.

  • Pre-Assess is a 7-module diagnostic — it measures, it doesn’t teach
  • The engagement builds the candidate that scores well on any aptitude test
  • Learning, coding practice and capstone projects sit ahead of the sitting
  • Readiness is grown over the year, not captured in a single campus exam
02A TPO operating system

Workflow the placement cell actually runs on.

  • CoCubes covers exam admin and diagnostic — no documented TPO workflow product
  • Drive coordination, recruiter engagement and offer tracking sit inside the cycle
  • Live mock interview rounds prepare students CoCubes leaves to self-study
  • One operating surface for the cell, not a test feed bolted on the side
03The institution’s record

A score read by the college, not the recruiter.

  • The Pre-Assess score is a single-test result on the Aon-CoCubes network
  • The Employability Score is methodology-led and held by the institution
  • Structured per-individual, per-cohort and per-branch, calibrated year-on-year
  • Longitudinal across the engagement — institution-owned and exportable
04One contract, one bill

Institution-funded, not paid per attempt.

  • CoCubes runs on per-test fees plus separate institute and corporate licensing
  • The engagement bundles learning, assessment, mocks, scoring and the recruiter pipeline
  • Three transparent tiers — Pilot, Department, Campus
  • Students pay nothing extra — the attempt fee stops gating the cohort
When Skillencio is the right engagement

Two conversations a test can't close.

If either is the conversation in your placement review, this is the engagement.

01When the number is the real problem

Drive count up, placement count flat.

  • More drives, more outreach — placement percentage won't move
  • Recruiters cite candidate quality; HODs cite the training calendar
  • The fix is upstream of any test — that's the cycle Skillencio runs
02When the test fee is the filter

A per-test fee decides who sits for placements.

  • Students who can't pay skip the test — and the recruiter pipeline that follows
  • Institution-funded engagement covers every student equally
  • Cost stops being the filter on readiness
Talk it through

Want graduates who clear any test?

TPO calls usually start with a placement number that didn't land. 30 minutes surfaces where the cycle is breaking — readiness, recruiter pipeline, evidence — and whether Skillencio is the fix.

Frequently asked

Questions TPOs ask.

The five questions that come up in every evaluation call.

01Is the CoCubes test worth taking?
CoCubes is a 7-module test producing a percentile score with 1-year validity. The score has value for the segment of recruiters that use it for screening — typically mid-tier tech and product firms. It does not teach. For institutional placement strategy, Skillencio's engagement builds the cohort end-to-end, with the Employability Score and EXCEL native assessment included.
02What is the benefit of CoCubes for engineering students?
The benefit is access to CoCubes's corporate recruiter network of industry partners. The model is B2C: students pay per attempt. For an institution running the placement cell, Skillencio replaces the cycle (learning, assessment, workflow) — not just the assessment.
03CoCubes or AMCAT — which is better for placements?
Both are diagnostic tests with overlapping recruiter networks. AMCAT generally cited as deeper in IT-services hiring; CoCubes more visible in mid-tier tech and product. Neither replaces a placement strategy. Skillencio is the engagement that operates upstream of either test.
04Do colleges actually buy CoCubes, or do students pay?
Both. CoCubes has institutional partnership tiers (Associate, Partner), but the dominant revenue path in India is student-paid attempts plus corporate licensing. There is no full TPO placement workflow product. Skillencio's engagement is contracted with the institution from day one.
05Are aptitude tests like CoCubes still relevant for placements?
Yes for the segment of recruiters that screen on them, especially IT services. But the test is downstream of readiness — it measures, doesn't build. Skillencio's cycle produces the candidate that scores well on any aptitude test, plus the broader per-student record the institution holds longitudinally across the engagement.
